origins of the name
"RaviRavi"
, Beqa's oldest village, can be traced back to over
200 years. It was here that the first Fijians settled Beqa Island. The direct interpretation
of RaviRavi "something to lean on". (NOTE RaviRavi is just a few minute walk from the
famous Beqa Bay Resort which has daily deep sea diving expeditions. For

The village is situated right on the beautiful coast of Beqa facing

Your hosts at Rookwa are well known village businessman Aisake Vatiliai, a member of the mataqali, and his son-in-law Kilevi - both being direct descendants of Tunaiviqalita, the mythical man who was given the gift of walking on fire.
Activities include : deep sea diving, walks (including a walk to a beautiful waterfall), fire walking (Mondays), mat making, school visits, joining the village Women's Club, pig hunting, snorkeling, and line fishing.
